Roland's Ride Charity Event
in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association

Roland’s Ride is a charity cycling challenge with alternative routes, starting and finishing at Darlington Arena.

Darlington Mowden Park R.F.C and SG Petch have teamed up again for the second year to organise three more bike rides to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The rides will take place on Sunday 31st May 2020 starting and finishing at the Mowden Park Arena in Darlington. Entry is £25 per rider with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity.

The idea was the brainchild of Peter Rees, an SG Petch customer and Mowden member whose friend Roland was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2018. Roland was a keen cyclist but unfortunately his physical condition swiftly deteriorated, to such an extent that he could no longer enjoy this outdoor pursuit. The disease took its inevitable course and he passed away in July 2019.

See scroll down the page for more information on Route Maps, Itinerary, T&Cs and how you can register. Please note: the route maps are provisional and will be finalised in due course.

Let's get riding for Roland!

Last year's event was a great success with over 75 riders taking part, and with your support, 2020 will be even bigger and better. Below are a small selection of images from last years ride.
