The New C-Segment Nissan Pulsar

Nissan have transformed the family car over the last seven years, producing the Qashqai, X-trail and Note, but there is now a new family member – the Pulsar.

They have combined technical innovations, bold design and interior space, the new Pulsar brings a new dimension to the C-Segment, giving all the familiar Nissan qualities in a new stylish package.

The Pulsar has advanced technologies which Nissan drivers have come to expect, helping drivers feel more comfortable and confident. Nissan’s Advanced Safety Shield has been fully integrated into the new Pulsar, this system offers Forward Emergency Braking, Moving Object Detection, Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Warning.

This new model also features Nissan’s second generation NissanConnect system that includes full smartphone integration, Google Send to Car and access to a wide variety of useful and informative apps.

The Pulsar has also been given LED headlamps, that were first introduced on the new Qashqai and X-trail. These LED front lights produce a crisp, white light and have added advantage of using 50 percent less power than conventional bulbs.

Nissan’s approach to innovation and reducing costs for owners, means the Pulsar all-turbocharges engine range delivers the perfect combination of efficiency and performance. The 1.2-litre DIG-T petrol unit punches above its weight with an output of 115PS, while the 1.5-litre dCi generates 110PS and 260Nm of torque. An even more powerful 190PS 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine will join the range early in 2015. The Pulsar is also good on emissions, with a CO2 output of 95g/km, it’s also offered with Nissan’s advanced XTronic automatic transmission. Engineered to deliver the best of both worlds for drivers it features ultra-smooth power delivery at low engine speeds and positive, direct shifts under heavier loads.

The exterior styling is instantly recognisable, with the Nissan V-motion grille an boomerang-shaped lighting signature and bold and energetic curves on the body side. The Pulsar has the same DNA as the Qashqai and X-trail giving it a powerful road presence, combining strong lines with immaculate detailing to create an elegant, athletic form. Like its crossover stablemates, the Pulsar is characterised by bold wheel volumes, a tapered waistline and a flowing profile.
