For 2013 a new series entitled the ‘SG Petch Abarth Sprint Championship’ will be organised by Teesside Karting, the North of England’s leading hire kart specialists, and include 8 exciting rounds of action on the Teesside Autodrome’s International Circuit.

The series will use Teesside Karting’s fleet of fully race prepared twin engine pro-karts, widely recognised as the best prepared and maintained hire karts in the United Kingdom. This 2013 championship promises to offer competitive racing at low costs as well as exciting races in equally matched karts, allowing driver skill to determine race position rather than mechanical tweaks.

For 2013 the championship will be divided into 3 new categories

  • Lightweight – Any driver under 11 stone (70 Kgs)
  • Middle Weight – Any driver between 70 – 80 kigs
  • Heavy Weight – Any driver over 80 kgs

This means a driver will not only score points within their category but the points tally will go towards their overall championship position, making it possible for any driver to win from any category overall.

The full race calendar is as follows:

  • Round 1 – 24th March
  • Round 2 – 28th April
  • Round 3 – 19th May
  • Round 4 – 23rd June
  • Round 5 – 28th July
  • Round 6 – 29th September
  • Round 7 – 27th October
  • Round 8 – 24th November

To book your place for round 1 of the championship on Sunday 24th March, contact Teesside Karting on 01642 231117, or visit the Teesside Karting website for more information.

Entry fee for each round is £55, with £10 deposit payable upon booking and the remaining balance to be paid when signing in on race day. Places on the grid are on a first come, first served basis, so please book your place earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment.

All drivers must be at least 16 years old.
