The enhanced Kia Cee’d and Pro_Cee’d lineup will be due to go on sale later in July.

The range which includes the 5 door hatchback, station wagon and sporty 3dr have received a comprehensive upgrade inside and out with more powerful engines, elevated interiors and features as well as modifications to the high-powered cee’d GT and pro_cee’d GT models.

A new ‘GT Line’ specification will also provide all of the dynamics of the GT models and the versatility of the conventional cee’d model at the same time.

Modern designs and style

Kia’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille will still feature across the whole enhanced model line up but the bumpers are wider and more angular with chrome trim around the fog lamps. The rear bumpers also have new LED lamps and reflectors.

Internally there’s added sound-deadening materials in the floor mats and ventilation system as well as chrome accents and the addition of a color package.

Enhanced powertrains and seven-speed double-clutch transmission

Under the bonnet is where most of the changes have been made with a new 1.0-liter T-GDI 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. Meeting the new Euro 6 admission standards, this new engine is offered in 100 or 120 PS configurations with better fuel consumption and lower emissions.

A new seven-speed double-clutch transmission (DCT) will also be available on the higher powered models with 136 ps 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engines. The new transmission offers a sporty driving feel when in manual mode and an elevated level of comfort and smoothness when left in automatic mode.

Improved safety features

Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) will also be improved with the addition of a new torque vectoring system, the motor-driven power steering system, and new stoppers on the rear strut mount insulators. As for safety, an optional Speed Limit Information Function (SLIF), which uses a camera to identify speed limit signs on the road and notifies the driver of the speed limit on the dashboard and speedometer, has been added. Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) are also available.
