The stars turn out for cancer charity
SG Petch Durham had a surprise visit from some of the biggest names in show business to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Slash from Guns ‘N’ Roses joined Buzz Lightyear, Cat Woman and a host of celebrity guests, and beasts, to embrace the charity fund-raising spirit as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee morning.
Members of staff were busy baking throughout the night to provide customers with cakes and pastries, which were served with richly brewed coffee courtesy of Starbucks.
Cat Woman said: “Cancer can affect anyone, so it’s great to know charities like the Macmillan trust are there to help and support people and their families who are affected by it. It’s also important to remember that the Macmillan trust can’t operate these vital services without the people who support them.”
SG Petch would like to thank everybody who donated and got involved in this mornings event at Durham and Darlington. We would also encourage everybody to get involved in your local area, sign up for an event or organise your own. You’ll make a real difference to people living with cancer.
There are currently two million people living with cancer in the UK and by 2030 that figure is expected to rise to almost four million.
