The Nissan’s Qashqai 360 Around View Monitor Prevents Motorists Having Parking Accidents
Nissan’s camera technology that features on the Qashqai 360 should mean the end of company car driver’s parking errors, which could save thousands in repair bills for fleets, it can also prevent insurance premiums rising and reduce vehicle off the road time.
This advanced camera system AVM gives the driver a 360 degree birds eye view of their parking area. It uses 4 separate wide angle cameras which are located at the front, rear and in the side mirrors, the integrated 5″ Nissan Connect touch-screen displays an image of the vehicle from above.
This gives the driver visually confirmation of the position of the car in relation to the lines around the parking space, with this technology the driver can easily position the vehicle for parallel parking or park the car in a smart way.
The benefits of AVM were outlined recently when Accident Exchange research found that the average cost for car body and mechanical repairs resulting from car par collisions are £1,428. The cost would rise further when including, insurance premiums rising and hire car costs.
The AVM system can also protect the alloy wheels, by helping the driver align the wheels away from curbs preventing expensive collision damage.
“The figures quoted by Accident Exchange speak for themselves and show that even a low speed incident can cost fleets both financially as well as the inconvenience of fleet downtime. The Qashqai 360 is full of leading technology as standard and AVM helps fleets reduce their collision costs and helps keep control on the fleet’s purse strings.” commented Jon Pollock, corporate sales director at Nissan.
Aswell as the AVM system the Qashqai 360 comes well equipped with a panoramic glass roof, roof rails and privacy glass. Inside it features Nissan Connect touch-screen monitor that is the home of AVM and it also features an intergrated Sat Nav system, Bluetooth, USB and iPod/iPhone connectivity.
Prices for the Qashqai 360 start at £19,945 OTR and is available now.
