Subaru Introduce The New Impreza
Subaru introduced the all new fourth generation 2012 Impreza at the New York International Auto Show. This new model is of dynamic design and also comes with a choice of new engines.
The exterior design is bold, confident they are several design elements which make it look sportier, the windscreen is more raked than the previous model, giving the driver and passenger a better view of the road. There’s a new hexagonal grille where the Subaru badge sits in the centre, this is a keystone to all new Subaru designs. The Subaru hawk-eye headlights and range of new 15 to 17 inch wheels also adds to the Subaru’s updated look.
The interior features include new technology and a higher grade of materials. Standard equipment has been increased across the range. All models will feature a multi-function display, engine immobilizer, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, electric windows and mirrors, 60/40 split fold down rear seats and a outside temperature gauge.
The engine will be an all new 4-cylinder 1.6 litre Boxer petrol engine with a choice of a five speed manual transmission or a second generation Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission). Subaru will offer two Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive systems, models equipped with the five-speed manual transmission, the continuous AWD system will be used. This will distribute power 50/50, front to rear. Models with the CVT transmission will feature the Active Torque Split AWD version which uses a continuous variable transfer clutch to actively control power distribution in response to driving conditions. With either transmission choice the Impreza will deliver significantly improved fuel economy over the car it replaces.
