Hyundai RN30 Concept

Hyundai revealed their RN30 Concept at the 2016 Paris Motorshow today giving us an insight into their vision for a new generation of showroom performance cars.

Development of these new models, which will be marketed under a new ‘N’ performance brand, are a direct result of Hyundai’s foray into motorsports. In 2013 Hyundai entered the world’s most grueling motor sports series the World Rally Championship, more commonly known as WRC, with a variation of its i20 hatchback. Now in it’s third year, the company is testing a new i20 WRC rally car for 2017 as well as developing an R5 programme with rising Dutch rally star Kevin Abbring.

More recently the company participated in the 2016 Nürburgring 24-hour Endurance Race with a highly tuned Veloster and i30 2.0-liter turbo and saw all of its competing cars successfully reach the finish line. The i30 is said to be the first of many cars which will reach final production in 2017 and challenge the likes of VW’s Golf GTI Clubsports, Seat Leon Cupras and Honda Civic Type Rs.
