Prestigious Red Dot Award Won by the Mazda 6
The world’s largest design competition, the ‘red dot design award’ has been given to the Mazda6 for its outstanding design. Previously the award has been given out to fashion and lifestyle brands like Nike and Apple.
This year, the jury of independent design experts, who judged the entries honored the KODO – inspired Mazda6 for qualities such as its high level of design innovation and bold stance.
The winners will be announced at the ‘red dot’ design award presentation ceremony at the Aallto-Theater in Essen, Germany on the 1st July.
This is another accolade for Mazda’s striking new flagship and the company’s revolutionary “KODO – Soul of Motion” design theme.
“We were aiming with the new Mazda6 to awaken the observer’s senses and turn heads with an uncompromising balance and proportion that instantly makes one want to get in the car and drive,” says Peter Birtwhistle, chief designer at Mazda’s European R&D Centre. “The red dot award for product design is a very prestigious testimony to what we have achieved at Mazda with the bold expressions personified by KODO.”
This is the latest award for Mazda’s “KODO – Soul of Motion” design, which also recently, won two other accolades, which include ‘Best Upper Medium’ title at the recent Fleet News Awards and the ‘Best Large Family Car’ from the experts at CarBuyer website.
