Nissan Juke Nismo High Performance Without The Price Tag
It’s been confirmed the new Nissan Juke Nismo, which offers high performance, striking looks and a huge amount of generous equipment won’t be coming with a huge price tag. That’s because this sports crossover will be available from £19,995.
The sports crossover was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September and will go on sale in the UK, January 2013, with first deliveries set for March. This will be the first Nismo-badged road car released into European market.
Its 200ps of power comes from Nissan’s 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 6,000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 2,400rpm and 4,800rpm. The front-wheel drive, six speed manual form of the Juke Nismo has a acceleration of 0-62mph in just 7.8 seconds and has a top speed of 134mph.
It was designed to offer customers accessible performance – the new engine is complemented with a uprated chassis that will really help owners make the most of the power available. It also has 10 percent stiffer springs which were changed to enhance traction while the steering is more direct.
The exterior has also been enhanced, with front and rear Nismo badging, subtle bodykit features, signature red door mirrors with a matching lower red pinstripe. However the changes are more than cosmetic, the new aerodynamic bodykit features lower front and rear bumpers, wider wings and sill side skirts, and a modified grille and tailgate spoiler, this helps to reduce the front and rear lift without increasing the drag. So much so even with all this power the Juke Nismo claims the same combined fuel economy figure of 40.9mpg and 159g/km CO2 emissions as the Juke DIG-T on which its based.
The interior has also had some changes, it has special suede-trimmed Nismo sports seats with red stitching and deep side bolsters have been added, along with Alcantara and leather trim for the steering wheel and suede trim for the door liners. It also has a black centre console, black door switch surrounds and a black headliner, and red Nismo signatures are also carried through to the dashboard gauges and gearknob and gaiter.
There are three colour choices Storm White, Pearl Black and Blade Silver. Customers can also choose from a two-wheel drive six-speed manual transmission, or a four-wheel drive version with a CVT automatic gearbox.
