Mazda MX-5 GT Into Britcar

Mazda are set to compete in the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship 2011. They will be racing against the likes of BMW, Porsche, Lotus and Aston Martin.

Jota Sport based in Tunbridge Wells are the engineering team behind the transformation of the MX5, it weighs only 850kg and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds and the top speed is a whopping 160 mph, the modified Mazda engine can produce 275bhp. It also has carbon doors, polycarbonate windows and a paddle shift gearbox.

This will be the fourth time that Mazda have entered this Britcar event. Mark Ticehurst and Owen Mildenhall will be the drivers for this series. The Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship starts on the 26th March 2011 at Silverstone and  continues for nine races through to November.
