Kia Cee’d named the most dependable compact car
- Kia Cee’d most dependable compact car
- Kia ranked 2nd for brand dependability
Kia had plenty to celebrate this week as their Kia Cee’d was awarded the most dependable compact car as well as 2nd for overall brand dependability, according to a UK study by J.D. Power
Covering a multitude of symptoms – 177 in total – across eight categories, the study measured problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of vehicles in the United Kingdom after 12-36 months of ownership.
Overall dependability is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality. Kia ranked second with 83 PP100 well below the overall industry average of 114 PP100 and above premium brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, who ranked 5th (88 PP100) and 7th (93 PP100) respectively.
Kia invest heavily in quality control and car development programmes around the globe with over one million kilometres of durability testing carried out around the world – equivalent to approximately 27 circulations of the Earth around the Equator.
