Hyundai collaborates with K-pop stars to create new music

One of the largest music recording and production companies in Korea, SM Entertainment, have created a unique album in which Hyundai have helped. The brand-new tracks have been recorded by some of the biggest K-pop stars.

The music was created by established stars, including, BoA, Jessica from Girl’s Generation and Taemin from SHINee, and were inspired by three of Hyundai’s newest models.

Mark Hall, Marketing Director of Hyundai Motor Europe, said, “As K-pop continues to reach new levels of popularity, we are very happy to be involved with such a dynamic and vibrant music scene. This innovative collaboration, the first of its kind for us, demonstrates the ‘new thinking’ and ‘new possibilities’ hat are at the heart of the Hyundai brand.”

Featuring dub step, electronic pop and other genres, the three songs are dedicated to New Generation i30, Hyundai’s best-selling model in Europe; All New i40, Hyundai’s first Europe-focused D-segment car; and Veloster, the unique 1+2 door coupe with sporting looks and extra practicality. Veloster also forms part of the album’s artwork, sharing the cover with the recording artists.

BoA’s i40 theme song, ‘LOOKIN’, was released on various music sites on 16 October 2012, while ‘My Lifestyle’, the New Generation i30-inspired song by Jessica, was released on 18 October, one day after the artist performed both songs at the Hyundai PYL Younique show in Seoul.
