SG Petch v Mowden Park – Charity Cricket Match
SG Petch and Mowden Park Rugby Club are to take part on a one-off Cricket match for a local charity.
The game will be played at Bishop Auckland Cricket Club on Sunday 23rd August in aid of Butterwick Hospice, who raise vital funds to care for people living with a progressive life limiting illness.
SG Petch Financial Director & Cricket Captain Simon Rees said: “We are looking forward very much to the Charity Cricket encounter with Mowden Rugby Club but are glad that with cricket there is no direct physical contact with the opposition. Nevertheless, the game won’t be for the faint hearted as we have heard that Danny Brown, the Mowden first team coach, is a fearsome fast bowler but being as he hasn’t played cricket for a while, hopefully his deliveries will be wide of the mark – helmets all round”.
“We hope as many people as possible will come to support the S.G.Petch team and help raise as much money as possible for Butterwick. There will be lots of entertainment, food and drink so as long as the weather is good, it should be a cracking afternoon. P.S. St Johns ambulance will be in attendance”.
The family event starts at 1pm and will feature a magician and live music from JD & the Woodsmen and the Tees Valley Jazzmen. There will also be a cider festival, barbeque and kids will be entertained throughout the day with a number of activities including a bouncy castle and Punch and Judy show.
The charity match starts at 2:00 pm. Look forward to seeing you there.
